The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps pay for home heating costs and furnace repairs for income-qualified households.
For our final post on energy efficiency, we want to call out the Energy Assistance Program (EAP). EAP is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and is administered via county and Tribal Government contracts. It’s available to households with income at or below 50 percent of the state median, whether homeowners or renters, and helps pay for home heating costs and furnace repairs. In Minnesota, a household of five with total annual income of $60,000 would be eligible, provided that no more than $15,000 in income accrues during any three month period.
