This month we celebrate June Homeownership Month and all of the vital community-building work done every day by the dedicated staff at our Homeownership Advisors Network partner agencies. This week – Home Stretch homeownership classes are being offered for free across the state through June 30!

June is Homeownership Month! Our Homeownership Advisors Network works every day to facilitate access to sustainable homeownership for low- and mid-income households. Part of this work involves facilitation of the Home Stretch education class. Home Stretch is an eight-hour, in-person classroom-style learning opportunity presented by certified nonprofit trainers at locations across the state. Modules include discussions led by lenders, real estate agents, home inspectors and others – all in a neutral (i.e. non-sales) setting. Home Stretch is normally offered for $25-$40 per person, but during June Homeownership Month, many of these classes are being offered for free!

Home Stretch is a requirement for taking advantage of many special loan products. It’s also a great place to start for potential first-time home buyers seeking to learn more about homeownership and the home purchase process. We encourage you to share and promote these opportunities to your professional networks! The Home Stretch workshops being offered free of charge between now and the end of the month are listed below (these opportunities were submitted to the Center for promotion – additional free classes may be taking place as well). The number of free classes is limited, and they always fill up fast.
