Minnesota's Preforeclosure Notice (MN Statute 580.021)


Effective August 1, 2008, Minnesota state law requires the foreclosing party to:

     provide information regarding foreclosure prevention counseling services to the mortgager;  
  provide the homeowner’s name, address, and most recent known telephone number to an approved foreclosure prevention counseling agency - BEFORE filing the notice of pendency.


The Minnesota Home Ownership Center maintains a database of contact information for approved foreclosure prevention counseling agencies available to lenders, servicers and foreclosure attorneys for use in complying with this law.  Preforeclosure Notice contact information is available electronically by contacting Stephen Przybylinski at the Minnesota Homeownership Center: stephen@hocmn.org
